Call for Collaborative Music Projects launched

by Caitlin Rowley

Today we’re launching our first Cyborg Soloists Call for Collaborative Music Projects. We’ve teamed up with two of our fantastic partners - SoundBrenner and Vochlea - to create two commissions of £3000 each for new works to be created using their technologies, the SoundBrenner Core wearable metronome, tuner and dB meter, and Vochlea’s Dubler 2 real-time voice-to-MIDI software.

We’re calling for proposals from creative duos for 10-20-minute works to be created using one of these partners’ technologies in innovative ways, which the duo (or performer member of the duo) will premiere at a concert we will organise and promote for Winter 2022/23.

One member of each duo must identify as an early-career musician, and the duo needs to be based in the UK, so if that’s you, come up with an idea and apply! Duos could consist of composers, performers, sound artists, songwriters and/or software programmers - but if you’re thinking of some other pairing, do get in touch to talk to us about your idea. Applications close 30 April 2022.

Find out more about the call here. And if you have questions that aren’t answered in that page, there are details on how best to contact us in the Apply Now section.

We’re looking forward to receiving your proposals!
