Louis d’Heudières
Louis d'Heudières is a composer and performer based in Hamburg. His live works combine sound, text, video and performance and are motivated by a desire to question how music is defined within western social and cultural contexts and discourses. They examine the norms of the concert format and the philosophy behind the western art music tradition, engage with performers’ lived experience outside of musical training, and embrace approaches to notation grounded in listening and aurality. His music has been performed around the world, in everything from underground corners of small DIY scenes to state-funded international festivals. Outside of live music, he collaborates regularly with visual artists, producing work for sound and video installations, films, and performances.
