Jessie Marino is a composer, performer, and media artist.  Her recent work focuses on sound, light and fibre. Jessie has recently been commissioned for new works by the BBC Radio 3, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Wittenertage für Neue Musik, and Lucerne Festival. In 2023/2024 she was an Artist-in-Residence at The Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) in New York, in 2020 she received a Fromm Composition Commission from Harvard University, and in 2018-2019 Jessie was Artist-in-Residence at the American Academy of Rome.  Her music has been performed by Pinquins, Ensemble Adapter, Ensemble MusikFabrik, TAK Ensemble, Scenatet, among many others.  Marino also performs an idiosyncratic bevy of stringed instruments and electronics in collaborations with her bands Retirement (NO), Caoutchouc (CH) Exquisite Peanut (RO/DE), and Ensemble Adapter (DE). She earned an MA in Experimental Music Composition from Wesleyan University working with Alvin Lucier and Ron Kuivila and a DMA in Composition from Stanford University, working with sound artist Paul DeMarinis.
